Your wedding is your marital calling card. It makes a statement about who you are and will be as a married couple. Whether you hold a small simplistic ceremony and reception or throw an elegant party both say something about your “couple style”, wink to our favorite wedding movie, Bride Wars.
Given that wedding season is in full swing we decided to chime in on the hot now list and curate our own list of wedding trends for 2017. In compiling our list of wedding trends we kept true to our Kansas City heritage and expertise in bridal and fashion jewelry in hopes that we can help you choose your “couple style”.
- Au Naturel
In 2017 you can expect to see an abundance of back to earth basics. In both decor and floral design you will see the use of greenery at the center of the design for both table centerpieces and ceremony decor.
Bridal fashion is taking on a more earthy design as well. Bridesmaids this year will be seen wearing breezy silhouettes in earth and pastel tones. As for the wedding ring fashion the Au Naturel bride might choose a ring that more closely resembles textures and colors found in nature. You can see more stones of color and more raw uncut stones such as those found in Todd Reed’s Designs. This will also be mirrored in the texture and detail of the bands. Metal will take on a more raw texture as well.
2. Spirited Prints
We are excited to see couples having fun with their weddings this year by incorporating vibrant patterns into their themes. In Lieu of watercolors and metallic accents you will notice bright tropical prints and energetic floral patterns on invitations and dawning reception spaces on everything from the table napkins to grooms suit jackets.
This trend has also made its way into engagement ring designs. Designers are taking this trend literally by encasing the center stone with a floral pattern of smaller stones. While some designers are using bright center stones to mimic the vibrant trend .
2. Metal mixings
The last trend, but certainly not least, is probably our favorite prediction for the 2017 wedding season. Brides are mixing their metals to create a statement in both their decor and fashion choices. Metals are taking the place of using a themed color scheme. Designers have already followed suit and created rings with prongs in a different metal than the band as well as mixed metal bands.
We hope you will visit us at Mazzarese and let us help you pick out the rings that will compliment your “couple style” perfectly.
